Big Truck Parade & Starlight Shopping

This is the evening the Christmas season officially kicks off in Campbell River. It begins with the Big Truck Parade that starts on Highway 19A at Rockland Road and culminates at Spirit Square downtown. And spirited, it will be! There will be lights and music filling the streets, glow sticks and candy canes for the kids and a great fire in the town fire pit to chase away the winter cold. There will be critters for petting, entertainment, and a chance to see some of the parade trucks up close. And of course, there will be food venders on hand and MR & MRS. CLAUS!!

In addition, the downtown stores will stay open long into the evening, to allow people to start their Christmas shopping. I’ll be at Coho Books, signing copies of Isobel’s Stanley Cup. Ruth Latta, a reviewer for CM Magazine gave the book 5/5 stars and said, I hope that this tiny, perfect, uniquely Canadian novel will turn up under many Christmas trees this December.

I do too. So if you have a child, a grandchild, or know of a child between the ages of 7 & 10, this would make the perfect gift.

Hopefully I’ll see you on the 30th!
